Ralph has been managing partner of the law firm of Capitelli and Wicker since 1987. He has extensive experience in all aspects of criminal law and has handled cases both as a prosecutor and defense counsel for over forty (40) years. Mr. Capitelli has received the highest professional rating available from Martindale Hubbell (AV) and his firm, Capitelli and Wicker; has been named to the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers. He was named to Super Lawyers in Louisiana for 2011, 2012, and 2013.

Mr. Capitelli has defended every type of major felony case on behalf of individuals and/or corporations in both federal and state court. He defended a major gaming company in a complex federal RICO investigation which cleared the company of any wrongdoing. He also successfully handled the first major gaming regulatory hearing ever held in the State of Louisiana. In recent years, he has focused, on defending corporations and individuals, complex white collar and public corruption cases in Federal Court.

He is the former First Assistant District Attorney for Orleans Parish (1977-1980) and the former president of the Assistant District Attorney Association for the State of Louisiana. He successfully tried many major criminal cases during his tenure as a prosecutor including the trial convicting Warren Davis 'the French Quarter stabber'. Mr. Capitelli was chosen by the Louisiana Supreme Court to be the Special Counsel for the Louisiana Judiciary Commission.

He has been a regular guest lecturer at Tulane University Law School and frequent lecturer at continuing legal education seminar as well as being a featured speaker at Trial Tactics Seminars. Professional affiliations and associations include the Louisiana State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Louisiana Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Federal Bar Association.

Mr. Capitelli is admitted to practice in all Federal courts in Louisiana, the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. He has handled federal criminal cases in jurisdictions across the United States with a major emphasis in Louisiana and the entire Gulf Coast area.
