In 2012 and 2013 Brian J. Capitelli was named one of New Orleans Best Criminal Defense Attorneys. Prior to joining Capitelli and Wicker, Brian spent several successful years with the U.S. Attorneys' Office in New Orleans as a federal prosecutor. While a federal prosecutor, Brian was promoted to Chief Liaison to the Grand Jury. He prosecuted all different types of federal crimes ranging from environmental violations to public corruption and bank fraud. During his tenure at the U.S. Attorneys' Office, he successfully tried numerous cases before federal juries and received several awards including recognition from the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Brian’s successful career at the U.S. Attorney's Office was preceded by several years with prominent law firms in New Orleans where he litigated cases in both state and federal courts throughout Louisiana.

Since joining Capitelli and Wicker in 2010, Brian has focused his practice on white collar defense and criminal defense. His practice includes investigations and prosecutions in both state and federal court, where he represents individuals and businesses. Brian has lectured on developments in Criminal Law and Law Practice Management. He also teaches a trial skills class at the Tulane University of Law.
